# Linking Tickets

### **Linking Tickets**

Tickets that are related — for example, multiple reports about the same delivery issue — can be **linked** together to keep context clear and accessible.
ResolvePro automatically links tickets that are **merged** or **split**, but you can also link tickets manually when needed.

---

### **Link Types**

There are two types of ticket links:

- **Parent/Child** – Used for merged or split tickets, or when one ticket logically depends on another (e.g., sub-tasks)
- **Standard Link** – A general connection between related tickets, with no hierarchy

> 💡 *Use Parent/Child when there’s a main issue with supporting threads. Use standard links when tickets are connected but independent.*

---

### **How to Link Tickets**

1. Open the **ticket pane**
2. Scroll to the **Links** section (below Tags)
3. Click **➕ Add Link**
4. In the link dialog, either:
   - Enter the **ticket number**, or
   - Choose from recent customer or recently viewed tickets
5. Select the **link type** from the dropdown
6. Click **Submit**

Once submitted, the tickets will be visibly linked under the “Links” section, with the selected relationship clearly shown.
