# Splitting Tickets

Sometimes, a single ticket contains multiple unrelated issues — for example, a customer might report a technical problem **and** request a new order. In such cases, it's helpful to **split** the ticket into separate threads to ensure each issue is handled efficiently.

### **How to Split a Ticket**

1. Find the **article** (message) that starts the new topic
2. Click the **Split** button beneath that article
3. A new ticket dialog will open, prefilled with the selected content
4. Choose the appropriate type: **Call** or **Email**
5. Submit the new ticket

The newly created ticket is automatically **linked** to the original one. You’ll see this relationship in the **ticket pane**, under “Linked Tickets.”

> 💡 *Splitting keeps workflows clear and prevents confusion between unrelated topics.*
